The wheels are in motion for a second roundabout entry to Bremerton's Manette Bridge, with a renovation at the west end of the span where it connects to Washington Avenue and 11th Street set to begin this summer. Utility work around the short block known as Lower Washington Avenue, just north of the Manette Bridge on the downtown side, began this week to start prepping for a face lift that will rebuild sidewalks and retaining walls and add parking spaces in front of the row of view homes there. The city council awarded a bid for contract management of the project in May, and now the council is set to select a contractor's bid in early June.
