BREMERTON – Restored Washington State Ferries service in Bremerton appears to yet be months away. Could Kitsap Transit help to fill some of the gaps in the sailing schedule with added fast ferry service? A collection of officials in Kitsap are making a pitch.The state's Bremerton-Seattle route has operated on a limited schedule with only one boat assigned to the crossing for about a year. Washington State Ferries has pointed to staffing shortages and has reported that the route won't likely be restored to regular service until spring 2023.
