A 62-year-old man was in Kitsap County Jail on $500,000 bail after being charged with suspicion of vehicular assault in Superior Court Nov. 8. He faces 10 years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine. On Nov. 7 around 5:05 p.m. Bremerton police responded to a collision at Winfield Avenue and east 16th Street. The caller said a vehicle had careened through some trees and into their yard. One of the drivers tried to leave the scene, but couldn't because of damage to the vehicle. Police added he smelled of alcohol and breath mints.
